Meet The 2023-2024 Board!!!
Greetings and Salutations! My name is Joe Miller, and I'm excited to be your President this year. I'm currently a junior majoring in computer science; I am also a member of Penn State AFROTC planning on commissioning into the Space Force once I graduate. Growing up as an Army brat I lived in Kansas, New York, Texas, and California, but Virginia is what I call home. I bleed Blue & White, and you'll find me at basically every football game and many hockey games. I also enjoy ice skating, playing chess, and talking about all things Catholic.
Growing up, I didn't really take my faith that seriously. That was until the Coronavirus pandemic; over the course of 2020, God put into perspective what was important in my life, and I decided to try to live for Him. I am so glad He did, not only because of the beauty that is His Church but also because of all the amazing friends He put into my life, especially through Newman. Newman has truly been a family to me; when I arrived on campus freshman year, I was not too thrilled about being here, but after only a week in Newman, my perspective completely changed! I hope you find what I found here

Howdy! My name is Rachel Subrani, and I'm excited to be your Vice President this year. I'm currently a senior majoring in behavioral health; I am also a member of Penn State AROTC, planning on commissioning into the Chemical Corps once I graduate. I hail from West Palm Beach, Florida, and I love to fish, free dive, swim, hike, paddle board, and do anything involving the great outdoors. I recently became involved with my faith by getting confirmed last Easter Vigil. I joined Newman out of curiosity and fell in love with the camaraderie I experienced instantly after joining. Involvement in Newman helped me to deepen my faith, explore and enjoy the vast intricacies of the Catholic religion, and meet people who were as on fire for Christ as I wanted to be, serving as a mentor and a coach as I still am constantly learning. Newman has truly been a family to me, even though I joined relatively late. I hope you experience the amazing capacity of God's love through Newman as well as I have.

Hi everyone, my name is Rob Esgro and I am a fifth-year senior majoring in industrial engineering with minors in Chinese and military studies. I am excited to serve as Newman's treasurer for the 2023-2024 school year. At Penn State, I served as president of the Club Lacrosse team for the 2022-2023 season, am a cadet in Army ROTC, and also have served as a small group leader in Disciple Makers Christian Fellowship, a nondenominational Protestant group. My favorite moment at Penn State was being featured in the 2022 Undergraduate Homecoming Court.
Coming to Penn State was crucial in shaping my Catholic identity. The Catholic community at Penn State is spectacular, and the opportunities I've had to both grow and challenge myself in faith have made me who I am today. If you are on the fence about joining us in Newman, l want to encourage you to just try it. There's something here for everybody: if you're looking for a like-minded community with similar values to support you - we've got it. If you're looking to grow your horizons and learn more about ideas you disagree with - you've got a home here too. If you decide to join us, don't be afraid to introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi everyone! My name is Sophia and I’m a junior studying Premedicine. My list of hobbies is a mile long, but some of my favorites include spending time with horses, making art, and screaming my lungs out in Beaver Stadium.
I joined Newman fall of freshman year, and since then I’ve grown in my faith, made amazing friends, and created memories that I will always cherish. I hope you decide to join us and make lifelong memories of your own. If you do, you will become part of a family like no other!
Whether it’s your first year at Penn State, your last, or somewhere in between, Newman is a great place to learn about yourself and your relationship with God. College is a journey, but you are never alone. Please feel free to reach out anytime. God bless! :))

Hi!! I’m Anna and I’m so excited to be Newman’s Religous Ed Chair this year! I’m a senior (ahh that's weird) finance major from a suburb about 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Here at PSU I’m involved in the Nittany Lion Fund, Students for Life, Penn State Investment Association, Club Cross Country, Women on Wall Street and of course Newman!
Newman is such an amazing community here at Penn State, that has brought me some of my closest friends while making me so much stronger in my faith and I'm hoping that it can be that for you too! I’m what you’d call a Cradle Catholic, but until college, I never took my faith as seriously as other parts of my life. Newman helped me become more on fire for Christ and I hope that as the Religious Ed chair, I can help you become more on fire for Christ too, whether that is through small groups, retreats, or in any part of Newman.
I'm so excited for this upcoming year and to see old faces and meet even more new ones! :)

Hello! I am Dominick Tolentino, a senior studying Architectural Engineering. I am very grateful to be returning as the social chair for Newman.
For your sake, I will keep my bio short and sweet. After getting to spend the last school year as social chair, I will be taking that experience and applying it to this year in order to make social events even better than before! If you want to get to know me, then please come up and talk to me in person! I hope you can find Christ through your time at Newman, and I look forward to getting to know you this school year :)

Greetings, fellow members of the Newman Catholic Club! I am Ben House, honored to serve as your Service Chair. Together, let us embrace the spirit of service and make a positive impact on our community.
Service lies at the core of our Catholic faith, reflecting love, compassion, and selflessness. I am deeply passionate about helping others and believe that by extending a helping hand, we can bring about genuine change in the lives of those in need.
A little about me: I find great fulfillment in serving others and making a difference. It is not about seeking nobility, but rather about demonstrating the goodness of our hearts and living out the values that our faith instills in us.
My vision for our club is to create tangible and meaningful transformations in the lives of those around us. Together, we can reach out to the less fortunate, offer support, and share the love and compassion that our Catholic community embodies.
As your Service Chair, I am committed to organizing impactful service projects that address the needs of our community. I particularly enjoy cooking, and I believe that sharing meals with those in need can bring comfort, nourishment, and a sense of belonging.
In addition to our service initiatives, I also understand the importance of fostering friendship and solidarity within our club. Through various social events and gatherings, we can strengthen our bonds and create a supportive community that extends beyond our service efforts.
I want you to know that I am here for you, not only in my role as Service Chair but also as a friend. If you ever need someone to talk to, seek guidance, or simply share your ideas, I am always available to listen and offer support.
Furthermore, I value and encourage your active participation and input. Our club is a collective force, and every member's perspective and contribution matter. If you have inspiring service ideas or causes close to your heart, please share them with me. Together, we can explore new avenues of service and expand the positive impact we make on our community.
Let us embark on this journey of service with open hearts and a genuine desire to make a difference. By embracing the values of love, compassion, and selflessness, we can truly embody the essence of our Catholic faith and shine as beacons of hope in our community.
Feel free to reach out to me at any time. I am here to support and guide you.

Hey guys! My name is Peter DelPo, I am an upcoming sophomore from just outside of Philadelphia, and I will be your Publicity Chair this year! The Lord has called me to serve in many ways throughout my life, but I have fallen in love especially with doing mission work. This summer I served at a LifeTeen camp as a missionary for 7 weeks and have voyaged on several mission trips in the past two years. I love to use my camera and worked shooting sports photos in high school. I instantly felt at home when I joined Newman and am excited to have the opportunity to serve my community! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out, my email is pjd5588@psu.edu

Heya! My name is Leo, and I am a senior in Civil Engineering. I hail from Schuylkill County, PA... the land of Rednecks, Yeungling, and Coal. I have a passion for woodworking and cheesemaking, as well as a love for hiking, skiing, and just about anything in the great outdoors.
I encountered Newman last year, and it has been a blessing from the get-go. What I found when I moved up to State College was a community of vibrant and loving Christians, immersed in a love for each other and Christ. No matter the struggles or hardships I faced, they were always willing to accept and love me where I was.
If you wish to talk, whether about your faith, Carpentry, or if you want a friend to go skiing with, you need only email me at lot5122@psu.edu! God bless!

Hello! My name is Rose Abraham, I am from Hershey, PA and I am currently a junior. I'm a cradle Catholic as well as a cradle Jesus Youth. I love playing instruments, singing, and dancing (I am on Penn State's Sher Bhangra dance team). I will definitely do outdoorsy things like hiking and boating with you (but I am unreasonable scared of all animals and severely allergic to pollen). When inside, I love to play board or card games, watch a movie/tv show, and make/eat food (particularly things with lots and lots of sugar).
I am so excited and grateful to be serving as a music chair and I look forward praying and praising through music with you.

Greetings fellow Newman members! My name is John Pimley, and I am from West Chester, PA. I am a senior studying Industrial Engineering. Some of my interests include Philly sports teams, comic book movies, all types of music, being outdoors, and traveling. My favorite things about Penn State are attending football games, THON, and Creamery Chocolate Milk.
Newman was the first club I joined at Penn State, and is currently the one that I am most involved in. I feel it provides me the opportunity to make new friends while strengthening my relationship with Christ. This year, it is my honor to serve as our THON Family chair once again. I am excited to work alongside Laura and Joseph to organize engaging fundraising events and foster the connection between Newman and our paired Four Diamonds family, the Eliot Dean family! If you see me at a meeting or on campus, feel free to say hello or ask a question. We Are!

Hi! I’m Laura, a sophomore nursing student from Allentown, PA. In my free time, I have many hobbies including fitness, baking, hiking, music, and sports. You could say I'm an adrenaline junkie, always seeking new adventures and experiences making the most of life. This year, I am one of your THON chairs! This past year I was also blessed to be a part of a THON committee, partaking in the magic and love of THON! Newman serves as a home for individuals seeking to grow in their relationship with God, regardless of where they are in their journey. The friendships I’ve formed within Newman have been nothing short of incredible, as I’ve met individuals who have become some of my closest and most cherished friends. My spiritual growth has been profoundly enhanced since joining Newman at the beginning of my freshman year. Through engaging activities, discussions, and retreats, I’ve discovered new depths of faith and witnessed the transformative power of God’s love. I look forward to meeting new members and extending the same sense of belonging and guidance that Newman has provided me. If you’re searching for a spiritual home and a community that will support and inspire you, I wholeheartedly encourage you to explore Newman! Feel free to reach out anytime!

I am a junior in mechanical engineering. I joined newman to try and keep with my faith in college and I hope that by taking a board position this year I can help others trying to do the same. I choose to run for Thon chair because I really enjoy Thon and am a big fan of all that they are doing. I am hoping that I will be able to dance for Thon next year and I want Newman to do all that it can for Thon because of all that Thon does for the kids. Some of my other interests include hiking, music, and I will also be the tcg chair for Penn State Pokémon Society next year.

Hi everyone! My name is Paul. I was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam before moving to the US three years ago and currently living in Williamsport, PA (the Little League place, although baseball is not my sport). I’m a Junior studying Public Relations and International Politics. Although my official position is IM sports chair, my main contribution for Newman is IM sports rule counselor for any Newman IM sports team.
I was raised in faith mostly by the teaching and influence of my grandpa. Being a Catholic has always been the core of my life since I have always formed my opinion and way of life around my faith, and Newman is a great place for you to continue to grow in faith with many amazing young Catholics here. Newman, with me, is a great environment for young Catholic to find friends who are sharing the same faith and life values. You might imagine Newman as a group of students who only talk about faith, Bible, and theology. I had the same thought too when I first found out about Newman my freshmen year, but it is not enough. Newman is also an active group of college students know how to have fun and glorify God through their work such as Men/Women’s night, glowing frisbee, retreats, trivia night, and IM sports. I’m excited to see old faces and meet many new ones!
I am more than happy with people reaching out to me. You can contact me at azn5434@psu.edu.
